Interested in learning how to play a hand drum like the Middle Eastern doumbek or the African djembe?

In this private 1:1 class, beginner hand drum players will learn the fundamentals of hand drumming!

Specifically, students will learn:

•	proper posture and breathing.
•	hand placement for the first three types of strokes. For the doumbek, this will be the tek, the kah, and the doom. For the djembe, this will be the tone and the base. 
•	simple rhythms based on these strokes.

The FIRST session will be geared to proper posture, hand placement, and creating sounds. Subsequent sessions will build on those skills to create simple rhythms based on these strokes. Depending on the unique needs of your student, we will continue to learn other types of strokes and more complex rhythms.
