Curious about how to improve your writing with AI and ChatGPT? In this innovative one-week flex class, we'll explore the incredible potential of ChatGPT as a writing assistant.  Our goal is to understand how to use ChatGPT as a writing tool and to incorporate AI assistance into our writing routine. 

Throughout the week, students will engage in four informative and teacher-created lessons designed to empower them with AI-enhanced writing skills.  𝐍𝐨 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐙𝐨𝐨𝐦 I understand the importance of flexibility, so my flex classes offer a work-at-your-pace schedule, allowing students to tailor their learning experience to their convenience.  

𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝟏: 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐆𝐏𝐓
We'll kick off by getting acquainted with ChatGPT and understanding its capabilities. Students will learn how AI can be a helpful writing companion and explore its basic functions. Students will write a reflection statement on how they hope to use AI in their writing or the class.

𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝟐: 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭
In this lesson, we'll review the writing process, delve into using ChatGPT to brainstorm ideas, and learn how to write a basic ChatGPT prompt. Students will gain insights into how AI can spark creativity in their writing as they brainstorm.

𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝟑: 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
Grammar and style are crucial in effective writing. We'll explore how ChatGPT can improve sentence structure, word choice, and writing clarity. Students will write a short paragraph of their brainstormed topic.

Revision is an essential part of the writing process. In our final lesson, we'll focus on using ChatGPT as a helpful editing tool and how to personalized correction feedback. Students will use ChatGPT to revise their written work from lesson 3.

We will use ChatGPT as a tool; this class will not focus on the ethical or potential ethics of AI. Instead, our focus is to improve one's writing and use AI as part of the writing process.
