We will take a normal piece of paper and transform it into amazing shapes just by folding it! This is the beauty of origami. This class develops imagination and creativity while using math and motor skills.

Each week we will focus on making fun new shapes. 
This is an ongoing class but each class stands alone, so students may join or leave at any time without needing further information.
I am a very patient teacher and will give precise step-by-step instruction during class so students will be able to make the origami on their own. 
Students will be able to speak freely during class and I encourage them to ask questions whenever needed. This class is also open for socialization so I encourage students to interact with each other as well. 

There is no prior experience required as this is a beginners class.

6"x6" origami paper in the desired color is required for this class. We will also need glue, multi-colored construction paper, and scissors. Adult supervision is required for the use of scissors.

Hello, I am Alaina Banks. I am a mom of 4 amazing kids ages 3, 9, 14, and 18. I live in Northern Idaho and I am so excited to meet all of you. I have been a personal trainer and health and fitness coach for 12 years.  I am now a stay at home mom who has been teaching English as a second language to kids in China for almost two years. I love teaching kids of all ages. As a personal trainer, I also worked with the Keep Kids Healthy Campaign and taught fitness and nutrition to different schools in my area. I also held Kid Fit Bootcamps where I helped kids learn about how to stay healthy and why it is important. I am passionate about health and fitness and I live a healthy lifestyle myself.
I spent a year as a substitute teacher where I taught kids of all ages. I spent most of my time in the preschool class and I really enjoy teaching preschool kids and love to make learning fun!! I always bring positive energy to my classroom and encourage students to also show their individualness.
