Do you love cats? Do you wish you had a stronger bond with your cat? Would you like to better understand your cat? Do you want your cat to be a star? See how trick training improves your relationship with your furry friend. In this class I, with the assistance of my two cats, Shinobi and Rygel, will show you how to teach your cat fun tricks. These tricks include high fives, play dead, roll over, etc. plus how to teach your cat to walk on a leash. In each class, there will be a demonstration of the desired behavior, a detailed step by step on how to achieve the behavior, and then the explanation of why this works for your cat. Students will learn the principles of gentle animal training through positive reinforcement. We will discuss common problems that a trainer may encounter. We will also discuss several habits of successful trainers. Students will have time to ask questions about each trick modeled, as well as each lesson will start with a class discussion on how their own training went. This class is meant to be fun, and I will create a supportive environment. This class will build the students confidence and a sense of accomplishment. Students will learn patience and gentleness as they learn how to communicate with their cat. Students are welcome to bring their cat to class if they choose. Students who do not have a cat are welcome as well. *Note that each cat learns at a different speed, your cat will not learn a new trick each week, rather the student will learn how to teach a new trick each week. The student can then use their new skills to teach their cat at their own pace. Private lessons are available if a student wants more help with a specific trick. Week 1 handshake, fist bump, give me five Week 2 acting 101 (playing dead and rolling over) Week 3 might as well jump ... over leg/arm and through hoops Week 4 walk like a cat ( training your cat to walk on a leash ) Week 5 for whom the bell tolls (teaching your cat to ring a bell) Week 6 jump around ...on me vertical and horizontal jump Week 7 hustlers shell game Week 8 skateboarder cat Week 9 hand stand! (Cat jumps onto your hands) Week 10 show what you know! (Demo tricks with your cat! )

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
My name is Danielle. I live in Wyoming in the USA. I love hiking in the mountains here. I have my bachelors degree in education and I have my 150 hour TEFL certificate. I have been teaching professionally for seven years. For many years before I finished my degree, I taught as a volunteer, teaching students that ranged in skill from beginner to advanced, both young children and adults. I taught a variety of subjects, including ancient history, public speaking, and English. Teaching is my passion! Even my hobbies include teaching. I love riding and training horses. My horse, Sirocco, knows more than 10 different tricks, including doing addition, subtraction, simple multiplication, and answering yes or no questions. My cat, Shinobi, also knows about a dozen tricks. My teaching philosophy is one of supportive exploration: learning is a journey, and I want my students to be excited about their journey. My role is as a guide to help them explore and understand the lesson. Just like every sunset is different, no two people learn exactly the same way. So I adapt to my students preferred learning style and build confidence in their abilities, progressing to reach out and master new and more challenging abilities. I offer classes on trick training for cats and horses. I love to share my experiences in animal training and behavior, I want to help you to start your journey as a horse/cat whisperer!
