Students will learn through the use of a powerpoint presentation and short video pieces from the Simpson show the meaning of bias, and the importance of listening to differents sides of stories, and why stories may include bias.

1. Students will be tasked with helping Chief Wiggums, Police Office of Springfield, decide which account of a car accident between Mr. Burns and Bart is true.
2. Students will view one minute video testimonies from Bart Simpson and Mr. Burns. Each character will give their testimony of the car accident.
3. After each testimony, Teacher will facilitate student discussions: The Who, What, When, Where, and Why of the car accident.
4. During teacher facilitated discussion, students will jot down notes, onto the provided T-Chart, titled: "What happened to Bart."
5. Teacher will facilitate discussion around the similarities and differences of both testimonies.
6. Student will write their own report of what they believe happened at the car accident.
7. Students will view a one minute video of the ACTUAL car accident.

 Conclusion, teacher will facilitate discussion about the importance of listening to both sides of a story and why stories maybe bias.

    I am offering this class in particular because it is an age appropriate way to introduce young learners to the art of listening to two sides of every story and analyzing information for bias
    
    I am a highly qualified teacher certified to teach all genres of History.  I have 18+ years classroom teaching experience, a Masters degree in Education, certified to teach Advanced Placement Global History, and certifed to teach history in both the states of California and New York.
