In this class, I will be teaching students about the history of the Jim Crow Laws that once took over the south. They will learn how these laws started and how they affected African Americans, and other people of color. Students will be able to understand how these laws denied equal rights to blacks. They will learn how these unfair laws created racial segregation between white people and black people. The students will also learn about the history behind the name "Jim Crow." We will discuss how African Americans protested against these laws. We will talk about how they risked their lives to overcome and get rid of the Jim Crow Laws through the civil rights movement. This class will be very informative and it also connects to my other African American classes. This lesson will be interactive, and each student will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions. If you have any questions about the class or suggestions please send a message.
