Comprensión lectora con superhéroes: una aventura de lectura (2.º y 3.º grado)

Tareas
1 hora por semana. If students would like to practice skills in an independent assignment form, I will provide worksheets to further help students with working on making predictions and answer comprehension questions in a fiction text.
Evaluación
Students will be given an assessment reading a passage and making predictions for the beginning, middle, and end of the story using a template.

Class Title:  Mastering Predictions with Batman and Robin: A Fun Adventure

Class Overview: 

In this exciting and interactive virtual lesson, your child  will join Batman and Robin as they solve a thrilling mystery! Through the engaging story "Batman and Robin: The Prints of Thieves," students will practice make predictions before, during, and after reading, enhancing their comprehension and critical thinking skills. 

During this 30-minute lesson, your child will: 

- Learn how to make accurate predictions using clues from the text and illustrations. 
- Participate in real-time discussions to answer questions about the story's characters, events, and central message. 
- Use beginning, middle, and end template to organize key events and track the story's progression. 

This class is designed to be both fun and educational, ensuring your child is actively engaged in learning essential reading comprehension skills. 

What Will Be Taught: 

- Prediction Skills:  Students will practice making informed predictions throughout the story, using evidence to support their guesses. 

- Comprehension: Students will answer questions to demonstrate understanding of the text, focusing on key details ( aligned with common core standard RL. 3.1).


Materials Needed: 

- "Batman and Robin: the Prints of Thieves": The book will be projected  on-screen by the teacher, so their is no need for a physical copy.  We will be reading from the digital version of the book through a site called www.getepic.com. If you would like to review the book parents are more then welcome to create and account and read the book on the site as well. 

- Whiteboard and expo, Paper and Pencil, or a Copy of the Beginning, Middle, and End template: The beginning, middle, and end template will be sent out as soon as you register for the class.  The materials are used to make predictions in real time during the lesson. Students can use whichever material that makes them the most comfortable. 

- Active Participation: Students are encourage to share their predictions, thoughts, and answers during class. 

Class Format:

- Interactive Read-Aloud: The teacher will read "Batman and Robin : The Prints of Thieves" aloud, projecting the book's pages on-screen for all students. 

- Real-Time Discussions: Students will engage in discussion, making predictions and answering questions as the story unfolds. 

- Template Activity: Students will complete the beginning, middle, and end template to solidify their understanding of the story's structure. 

- Exit Ticket: At the end of the lesson, students will reflect on their predictions and share what they, reinforcing their comprehension skills. 

This class is perfect for young readers who enjoy superheroes and want to develop strong reading comprehension skills while having fun!
