1-2 horas por semana. In between classes, students will be instructed to explore their newfound skills by practicing taking photos of their pets. Depending on the temperament of your pet, taking the photos could take anywhere from 20 minutes to a few hours. Each student will pick their 1-3 best images (dependant on class size) to have presented next class. I ask that parents please send me student photos directly, or have the student upload the photos to the classroom so all images can be presented together, and at the same quality.

Experiencia de clase

In this class, we will learn all about taking the best possible photos of pets! We will explore techniques professional photographers use to get amazing photos, as well as tips and tricks to help your pet be as happy and cooperative as possible. We will also practice using constructive criticism to analyze each other's work.

This class is split into two days to encourage students to have their full attention on learning on day one, then have their full attention on their pets, and take photos after class.

Day One: We will start with an engaging and informative presentation that includes lots of sample pet photos taken by the teacher. Students will learn all about important elements of photography such as lighting, composition, depth of field, and angles. We will also discuss ways to keep both photographer and subject happy and safe throughout the photoshoot.
We will then brainstorm photo ideas together, and students will have the chance to ask any questions they may have.
There will be a printout available for students summarizing all discussed techniques to help them during their photoshoots.

* please see the "homework" tab for the photoshoot assignment given in between classes.

Day Two: Once the teacher has received all student images, a presentation will be made. Students will have the option to have their names included with their photos or have their photos remain anonymous. There is no presenting required from the students, but if they want the opportunity to say a few words about their photos, they are welcome to do so. First, a sample image will be shown so students can learn and practice giving constructive criticism. Then, each student's images will be shown, and everyone will take a turn saying what they like about the image and giving constructive criticism. Students are free to express their opinions but must do so respectfully. We're all here to help each other grow as photographers, not bring each other down.

It is essential that students are willing to participate and engage in discussions throughout the class.

Please note we will not be discussing any technical photography terms (aperture, shutter speed, ISO) in this class. A professional DSLR camera is not necessary, any camera phone, digital camera, or even a polaroid camera will work just fine!

Hi there! I'm Sabrina.

I live in Ontario, Canada with my furry and scaly companions. Specifically, I share my home with 4 cats and a wide variety of geckos!

Photography and animals are my two greatest passions in life. I have been taking photos for as long as I can remember, and over time it evolved into my career. I went to Sheridan College, specializing in photography. I now operate my own business where I specialize in photographing families, pets, engagements, newborns, and more!
I am excited to teach classes all about how to take a great photo, both technically and creatively.

Secondary to my photography business, I have a passion for animals of all kinds. I run a small reptile rescue out of my home, focusing mainly on leopard geckos. I take in a variety of different reptiles in various states of health. I am dedicated to learning as much as possible about these creatures and sharing my knowledge with others so they can properly care for and appreciate them. Hopefully, this will reduce the need for rescues like mine in the future.

As an educator, I believe that the classroom should be a place where students can have fun and engage in interactive experiences. My classes are designed to spark curiosity and inspire excitement in students. I am eager to help each student discover their passions and talents

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
Can’t wait to meet you in class!
