In our exciting math class, that doesn’t feel like math, we focus on making math accessible, fun, and exciting for students with dyscalculia & dysgraphia. This class is designed to build math skills through hands-on activities, interactive games, and multisensory learning techniques. With an emphasis on creativity and individualized support, your child will gain confidence and proficiency in math, all while having fun! Class Experience: This class provides a unique approach to teaching math, catering to the specific needs of children with dyscalculia & dysgraphia. We will focus on building a solid foundation in key math concepts, such as number sense, basic operations, and problem-solving skills, through engaging and enjoyable methods. What will be taught? Students will explore a variety of math concepts including: • Basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) • Understanding numbers and place value • Geometry and shapes • Problem-solving strategies and word problems • Patterns and sequences Every session will be built around a game or activity designed to make learning math fun and engaging, without feeling like traditional math lessons. Here’s how each class will be structured: Class Experience: We will begin with a brief introduction to a math concept, but the majority of the class will be spent playing an interactive, group-based game that teaches the skill in a fun and unexpected way. Each game is designed to develop mathematical thinking, while emphasizing creativity, collaboration, and excitement. These activities will be engaging enough that students won’t feel like they’re learning math at all, but they will still improve in areas like number sense, problem-solving, and logical thinking. Class Structure: • Introduction (10 minutes): A quick, simple explanation of the math concept being covered. • Main Activity (40 minutes): A game or hands-on activity where students apply the concept through play. • Wrap-Up (10 minutes): A brief reflection where students can discuss how the game relates to math and what they learned. Examples of Games and Activities: • Escape Room Puzzles: Students will solve clues and work together to escape a virtual room, using math-based puzzles that focus on basic operations, geometry, or pattern recognition. • Math Scavenger Hunt: An interactive hunt where students find virtual or real-world objects that fit specific criteria (e.g., finding shapes or counting items), unknowingly practicing geometry and number sense. • Math Relay Races: In a virtual team-based race, students will solve challenges and complete tasks using math skills without realizing the math behind the activity. • Logic Games and Riddles: Fun online games that require students to use reasoning and deduction to win. • Creative Math Art Projects: Activities like designing patterns or creating shapes that help students visualize mathematical concepts while engaging in art. How I’ll Teach: I will guide students through each game, offering support and encouragement, and ensuring everyone is engaged. Games will be structured for maximum fun, with math learning woven seamlessly into the activity. Teaching Methods: I use multisensory learning techniques to engage all types of learners, especially those with dysgraphia. Students will learn math concepts through seeing, touching, and interacting with numbers, shapes, and patterns. The use of manipulatives, games, and visual aids will help make abstract concepts concrete. Teaching Style: My teaching style is patient, supportive, and flexible. I encourage active participation and give personalized feedback to each student. I use a variety of teaching tools, including visual slides, games, and real-life examples, to keep lessons interesting and relatable. My goal is to ensure every child feels comfortable and capable, no matter their learning style. Interaction: Students will have plenty of opportunities to interact with me and their peers. Class time will include: • Group discussions: Encouraging students to share ideas and strategies. • Interactive games: Students will work together or individually on math puzzles and challenges. • Q&A sessions: I’ll address any questions or concerns throughout the lesson. Through this supportive environment, your child will feel more confident in their math abilities while learning valuable strategies tailored to their unique needs.

Orientación para padres
There is no content in this class that would be upsetting or scary to learners. All games and activities are designed to be fun, age-appropriate, and supportive for children with dysgraphia. I will be using interactive, web-based tools to facilitate some of the games, but no accounts are required. I ensure that all tools and platforms are safe and accessible for all students.
