Beginner Level
Whether your child is just starting out or needs extra support, this class will help them take the next step toward becoming a stronger, more confident reader! Designed especially for beginner and struggling readers, we’ll read together in a gentle, encouraging environment. Corrections are made kindly, and phonics instruction or sound practice will be added as needed. In each session, we’ll read engaging books at a comfortable pace, focusing on pronunciation, fluency, and comprehension. Students will receive personalized guidance, reading strategies, and plenty of chances to practice aloud—all in a relaxed, no-pressure setting. Through stories, rhymes, and simple texts, we’ll build confidence and make reading fun! Examples of books we may use: Days with Frog and Toad by Arnold Lobel Amelia Bedelia by the Yard by Herman Parish Danny and the Dinosaur by Syd Hoff Splat the Cat and the Quick Chicks by Rob Scotton Pete the Cat and the Cool Caterpillar by James Dean Fox at Night by Corey R. Hello! My name is Tracy. From ESL to social clubs and creative writing, I offer many different classes that are fun and allow for learning without pressure and stress! Academic success has always been important to me. I was the valedictorian of my high school graduating class and I graduated from Grand Canyon University, cum laude. I have 16 years of teaching experience. I taught a private school before starting a family of my own. I have taught every subject, from ESL to math and physics! I’ve taught ages from 3 to 18 years old.
Learning is important, but it's difficult to learn when you are stressed, struggling, or overwhelmed. I strive to make my classes fun so learning is easy.
As a mother of five, I understand that every child is different and they each have a learning style that works best for them. Because I have homeschooled all five of my children since the beginning of their schooling, I have seen the different ways children learn and know the importance of making learning enjoyable . I adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of the student.
