--------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------- HELLO!!! +++++++++++++ I offer 36 pre-recorded lessons - 3 per week, and this class is very self-paced and highly personalized. Whatever your child needs, I will put into he or she. My name is Ms. Cassy, and this is a 12-week home school supplemental class and it can also function perfectly well for those students in a traditional schooll! I am a 13-year degreed teacher (Arizona), and I love to teach, and to make learning fun and interactive! This class is ideal for students who have not yet mastered the concepts of reading and fluency in Kindergarten math skills, such as adding. PERFECT for kindergarten prep OR as a review for kids that need to reinforce those core skills. Please note that students do not meet live, but instead learn through other fun, engaging methods!!! How do we learn?? +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ **Students learn and refine core phonics and math skills, such as counting, patterning, phonics, and writing skills. Each week will feature core phonics & 10 main sight words. Basic writing and math skills, and each of these topics will have their own separate lesson on the classroom wall (see below). This class consists of weekly themes and core skills and games! WEEKLY THEMES ------------------ 1-All About Me! 2-Calendar Fun 3-Mammals 4-Reptiles 5-Amphibians 6-Birds 7-Weather Fun 8-Patterning 9 - Four seasons fun 10 - Tranpsortation 11 & 12 - Fun review weeks with virtual bingo CURRICULUM ----------------------- ----------------------- Weeks 1 - 4 (10 sight words) ----------------------------------- *Phonics: Alphabet identification and all letter sounds *Vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u) *Word families: -at, -in *Rhyming words: identify and create *Writing: Copy sentences (example: I am a cat) and name writing practice *Math: Identify and order numbers 1-15 *Adding numbers (example: 1+2) Weeks 5 - 8 (10 sight words) ---------------------------------------- *Phonics: Review: weeks 1-5 (phonemes, word families) *Word families: review and blending and sorting *Word families: -up, -et, -op *Writing: Rearrange words to create a sentence and name writing practice *Math: Addition and subtraction: basic numbers (example: 5 + 7, 12 - 2) *Patterning and sorting: basic Weeks 9 - 12 (10 sight words) ---------------------------------- *Phonics: Review all phonics *Word families: -am and review: all others *Writing: Short paragraph with guided instructions *Reading: simple sentences with the 30 sight words we have learned *Math: Addition and subtraction, patterning, decomposing numbers from 1-20
