This class is the sixth course of the Learn Japanese for Kids series, and I am so excited to see you again! In this course, we will take a virtual tour of Japan to discover some of Japan's largest cities, oldest temples and shrines, and most interesting and unique tourist attractions! We will explore many of Japan's most famous travel destinations, including Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Nara Park, Jigokudani, Zao Fox Village, and much more! We will continue to expand our Japanese vocabulary and increase speaking, listening, and conversational fluency in Japanese. We will continue to practice more complex sentence structures and grammar, and we will use what we learn in everyday scenarios to help your child practice what they have learned in an immersive, natural way. Each class will include a review of basic conversation, an introduction to new vocabulary, a simple grammar structure to practice newly learned vocabulary, a short Q&A to review vocabulary, and a game/song/activity to further practice what we have learned. Students will have the opportunity to interact with one another and ask increasingly complex questions in Japanese. This class is a great way to expand your child's Japanese vocabulary and knowledge of Japanese geography, history, and culture, and increase their confidence in speaking in a fun and educational environment! Week One: Tokyo (Tokyo Imperial Palace, Emperor, Tokyo Tower, Sensoji Shrine, Mt. Fuji, "Where does the Emperor live?") Week Two: Kyoto (Kyoto Imperial Palace, Nijo Castle, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kyoto Tower, "Where do you want to go?") Week Three: Osaka (Osaka Castle, Minou Park, Waterfall, Osaka Aquariuam, Shitennoji Temple, “What do you want to see?”) Week Four: Jigokudani Monkey Park (Hot Springs, Monkey, Snow, Hot Water, To Enjoy, "Why ______", "Because _______") Week Five: Nara Park (Deer, Cherry Blossoms, To Bow, Museum, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, "What are they doing?" "They are _______”) Week Six: Aoshima (Cat, Island, Neko Jinja, Many, Few, "Are there many cats on Cat Island?", "Yes, there are!") Week Seven: Okunoshima (Rabbit, Island, To hear, Thousand, Ferry boat, "Have you heard of Rabbit Island?", "Yes, I have!") Week Eight: Kitsune Mura (Fox, Village, Forest, Ticket, How Much?, "How much is a ticket to Zao Fox Village?")

Licenciatura desde University of Michigan-Ann Arbor
I have been speaking Japanese for over 10 years and teaching Japanese classes to kids and adults for over 5 years. I graduated from the University of Michigan's 2-year Intensive Japanese Immersion Course with honors and have lived and worked in Tokyo. Japan is an amazing country filled with so much history, natural beauty, and incredible food, and I have so many experiences and pictures from my time there to share with you in class! I have been teaching Japanese virtually for the past 3 years, and I love finding new and creative ways to make virtual learning fun!
