Hello! I'm an experienced homeschool mom and educator. I grew up in the Central Valley of California, surrounded by almond and walnut orchards. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in history and English from the University of California at Davis. As a homeschool parent and tutor, I have experience in a wide variety of curricula, styles of teaching, and the importance of meeting the needs of each individual student. 

I love the humanities! In school I studied history, literature, film, and art. Some of my favorite subjects to teach include: poetry, classic novels, all periods of history, art history, film studies, and crafts, focusing on classic folk art. 

I also tutor math for grades 3-9. With over 20 years of experience as both a homeschool mom and a tutor, I’ve taught Saxon Math from Kindergarten through Algebra in a wide range of settings—including one-on-one instruction, online tutoring, and small group classes. I understand how the Saxon approach builds skills incrementally and how to adapt it to meet each student’s unique learning style. Whether your child needs support mastering the basics or guidance through more advanced concepts, I bring patience, encouragement, and a deep understanding of the Saxon method to every session.

During my academic career, I took courses in 18th-19th century English history, modern US history, history through the novel, Irish literature, Shakespeare, 18th century English literature, and children's literature. I also love film studies and have studied film making quite a bit on my own in addition to taking courses on the Western (in all it's forms from spaghetti to Star Wars) and Alfred Hitchcock. 

I have been a homeschool parent for the past twelve years as well as an online tutor and small group instructor. 

I offer courses in history, literature, film studies, and art for 5th-12th graders. 

I value education and being a curious learner. The world is so large and amazing! We should all want to learn as much as we can about our history and culture that shapes us. 

In my spare time I love camping, hiking, and knitting.
