This 5-week flexible course explores healthy vs. toxic relationships, communication styles, and teen dating violence. Through videos, worksheets, and interactive activities, students learn to foster positive connections, recognize warning signs, and create safety plans. Building Bridges: Creating Healthy Relationships
In this lesson, you'll explore what makes a relationship healthy and strong. Just like a successful business, a healthy relationship requires teamwork, trust, honest communication, compromise, and respect. You'll discover how people build positive bonds with friends, family, and partners by working together, listening carefully, and caring for each other's feelings. Get ready for fun activities that help you identify healthy traits, practice good communication, and create a relationship pledge.

Lesson 2:
Dating Smart: Recognizing Healthy vs. Toxic Relationships
In this lesson, you'll learn how to tell the difference between healthy and toxic dating relationships. You'll discover the key signs of a healthy relationship—like trust, honesty, respect, and independence—and learn the warning signs of dating violence and abuse. For this lesson, you'll learn important facts about teen dating violence and how to build healthy relationships by using safe speech and empathy. You'll explore real statistics about dating abuse, learn key qualities for a healthy relationship (like forgiveness, empathy, sympathy, understanding, and appreciation), and discover ways to support yourself and your friends. Through fun activities and reflection, you'll practice using your words to make your relationships safer and stronger.

Parental Guidance
Dating violence is covered through a short, non-graphic video. Students may skip it if they find the content sensitive. Those who feel upset can contact me for support. While I’ll respond as soon as possible, this is not a therapy course and should not be considered a form of therapeutic practice.
Supply List
Handouts for each lesson are provided and to be printed or filled out on the computer for submission on the Outschool platform and chat.
