Welcome to my ongoing absolute beginners crochet class! I'm so happy you're here!  In this ongoing class students will make fun new things and practice their skills every week.

In each lesson, we will make make easy beginner projects that learners can easily repeat after class.  They will build on their skills and speed, practice what they already know, and learn new stitches and techniques with each session.

If brand new learners join the class after your learner has been attending for a while, we will return to easier projects for the benefit of the new ones. Eventually, your learner will have built enough skills and speed to think about moving up to the next level and joining my advanced beginner class. Please let me know if you have any questions. PREREQUISITES: Learners who join this class should know how to hold their hook and yarn and make chain stitches, single crochet stitches and double crochet stitches. If your learner needs those skills, I would love to teach him or her. Scroll down for links to my 2 one-time classes in which they can learn all they need to know to get started.

These are some of the things students will learn in this class. I will provide patterns and materials lists as necessary in advance of each project. Most of the projects will only need the basic supplies which are listed in the materials section below.

My goal is to complete the projects in the list above in the order listed. However, I may adjust the project schedule according to the skill level or preference of the students.  Patterns and materials lists will be available on the classroom page prior to each project. 

My teaching style is relaxed and friendly. I love the concepts of nurturing the interests of children more than having strict rules, lecturing and rigid structure. The term "guide on the side" suits me much better than "sage on the stage".  Guiding students and encouraging them to challenge themselves in a relaxed but mentally stimulating environment is my idea of great classroom. I try to create this environment for my students. It's also very important to me that every single student feel welcome and comfortable in my class.

**Also, if the appointment time or project listed for any of the weeks is not preferred, please let me know. I'm always looking to increase my class sizes and student base so I'll do my best to adjust my schedule and/or the projects to meet your needs.

***If all students are late I will wait at least 15 minutes before leaving the classroom. If there are disruptive noises I will mute students if necessary. If students have pets, filters, or other distractions during class I am not responsible for their inability to learn or finish a project. Be assured that I am a very easy going person and find it difficult to be anything other than very happy to be teaching your beautiful children.
