We have all been captured by the lanyards and boards of trading pins we see when we go to any of the Disney properties, but they don't tell you what to look out for and what to pass up! If you have traded pins at any of the properties, chances are you know the basics. If not, this is a great place to learn the basics (or simply refresh on them) and more! 
We will learn all about rack pins, open edition, limited edition, limited release, hidden mickey pin, chasers and others that you can find in the parks. We will also learn what to look out for so you don't trade the nice, new pin you just purchased for a fake one in the parks. Many counterfeit pins roam Disney properties and I will teach you what to look out for so you aren't stuck with one.
This class will be structured as a presentation with physical examples of all the types of pins we will learn about. I will answer any and all questions students have about Disney pins and give some advice when pin trading in the parks! Students are encouraged to have their pins nearby to evaluate and use as examples when learning about the crazy world of pin trading!

Hi there! I am Tara and I am so happy you stumbled upon my profile. 

I am excited to offer classes about all my passions: middle school math, sewing, quilting and Disney! Here is a fun fact for you, I have been to all 6 Disney Park properties within 6 months! Those six parks are in California, Florida, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Paris. Needless to say I also love to travel and exploring our world.
I also own my own fabric store! My house pretty much looks like Joann Fabrics, but I LOVE it!

During the months of September through June, I am a 6th grade math and science teacher. This school year was my seventh year teaching and I can't wait for year eight to begin in the Fall! I have a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from University of Phoenix. I hold an Illinois State and Michigan State Professional Teaching License along with an Endorsement in Middle Grades Mathematics and an endorsement for English Language Learners.

Whether I am teaching in a brick and mortar school or through the computer screen, my teaching philosophy will always be that student relationships and student engagement come first. I am a huge advocate for social emotional education and the idea that students learn best through actively engaging with a teacher they trust and respect. My students stay engaged through a bit of me embarrassing myself singing math songs and by us having fun all while learning those tough math concepts.
