Creación de un personaje: la preparación del actor

In this one off class we look at some existing characters from Theatre and Film and learn the fundamentals of quickly creating a character. We will learn various acting techniques and how to analyse a script and use it all to make the characters our own.

Learners will be encouraged to open discussions between each other about crafting their characters and to learn the importance of insight and direction from others in order to further develop performances. 

For students that attend the class on more than one occasion, we will have the opportunity to develop characters in more depth and to look at specific characters from a film or play that they would like to explore.

We will build confidence in character creation and discover the importance of the character biography by crafting a back story purely from our imagination as influenced by the script.

Students will always have the opportunity to perform and to show the class what they have worked on and for those less confident, we will allow them the opportunity to share what they are comfortable with when they feel ready to perform. This class is created with the purpose of allowing learners who may be showing an interest in performing the chance to explore acting in a relaxed and beginner level environment. I will always move at each individual students pace to help confidence and build them up.
