Through taking this ongoing class, students who decide to join as they please will get to explore their creative side through writing! Each class will begin with Miss Kaylee introducing a creative writing prompt that students will use as inspiration for the day. There will typically be two choices of prompts so that students can choose the one that is the most fun for them! They will get 30 minutes of independent writing time. Throughout this time, students may choose to meet with Miss Kaylee for any questions they have about their writing. The final 25 to 30 minutes of the class will be spent sharing our creative writing with the class! My classroom is a judgment-free zone, and kids should feel free to express themselves creatively, and feel excited to share their work with others because they worked hard and should be very proud! Each class will have a different set of prompt choices, but the structure of the class will stay the same. Whether you join on week 1, or week 6, there is no worry about missing anything, as classes do not have any specific overlapping goals. This class will be so much fun, and I cannot wait to see your children! Disclaimer: The timing of the schedule and activities during class each week may shift depending on the number of students enrolled. Please note that there are multiple sections of the course, and they did not all start the same week. However no matter the start date of the class, all current and future classes will always follow the schedule below, no matter the start date. The schedule is as follows: Week Of 11/3/24: What would you do if you woke up one day and you had been turned into either a kid-sized elephant or an elephant-sized kid? Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Hello! My name is Miss Kaylee. I teach classes mostly within ELA (reading, writing, phonics, grammar, etc). I have had extensive experience working with children. I recently graduated college with a bachelor's degree in educational studies and special education. While in college, I had the opportunity to work in many K-5 classrooms, working with children with very different learning styles and abilities. I have spent the last two years as a remote ELA and basic math tutor, so I have become very comfortable navigating the online teaching world. Prior to that, I spent 4 years as a camp counselor, working with young children as well. Working with children is my passion, and I love making a difference as an educator. One of my most important values as an educator is to meet every learner where they are, tailoring instruction to specific needs so that every student can be successful. I also find it very important to make instruction fun and engaging, as I find that students are more motivated to learn when they are having fun while doing it. When I am not working with children, I love to spend time with my family and friends, as well as my dog, Loopy, and my cat, Ruby. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions.
I look forward to meeting and working with you and your children!
