This will be optional, and up to each student if they would like to/have the time to complete the homework. Please have paper and a pencil, or a whiteboard for class to work out the problems. I will provide a handout each week that includes activities for class, and it has extra problems included that you can do for practice at home too. It is much easier to write the answers on lined paper, there is not room to write them on the handout. (Or you can write answers on the back of handout, whatever you prefer. Lined paper is probably easiest.) You will receive 1st handout when you enroll, and before class each week.

Math anxiety is a common problem for many students. I have seen it so many times in the classroom. It does not need to be! I teach Math with a simple, step-by-step approach, using a variety of engaging activities for all learning styles, and I have had great success with my students. I create a positive and relaxed environment for learning, where students are comfortable. Children learn that they are free to ask questions, and yes, it is ok to make mistakes. Sometimes we learn most from the mistakes we make. I have been teaching K-8 grades for almost 20 years, and I have been a personal tutor for over ten. I believe all children can learn, and I work hard to meet all students needs. Learning is made fun in my classroom, and students will find success, with academics, and building their confidence too.
