1 hora por semana. -Students will receive access to 1-2 homework assignments each week throughout the course. These are small tasks that I feel would be more suitable as an individual activity rather than an in-class activity. -Each week I also provide them access to optional notes to fill out during class, or a completed version of the notes to use as a reference if they do not want to take notes during class. Vocabulary and review games are also posted each week and are optional. -We will also complete two projects. These projects are optional, and can be as time/labor-intensive as your student wants to make them, the purpose of the project is to give students an opportunity to show their understanding of the topic. I will give them several ideas to choose from, but they also have the option to present a project idea for consideration. -A vocabulary quiz and a unit test are also provided for those that would like to test their knowledge in this way. I let all students know that assignments, projects, and tests are optional based on what the adult in charge of their education requires them to do.Experiencia de clase

These "Spectacular Science" courses are a fantastic way to meet your student's science curriculum needs! This class is part 3 of a 5-part series designed to cover an entire year of science curriculum for your 6th or 7th grader. (Quarters 1 & 2 are not required before taking this course. Courses can be taken in any order.) Students will meet live once a week and be provided with optional assignments to complete outside of our class time each week. Classes will include several activities designed to capture every type of learner including illustrating, organizing, reading, writing, watching, researching, exploring, and even gameshow-style activities! I'm a firm believer in creating engaging learning experiences, and I know middle school students will look forward to each class. Part 3 of this 5-part course will focus on earth science, with an emphasis on diving deep into learning about weather. Unit 1- Convection Currents (Weeks 1-4) -Objectives: Students will be able to recognize that the Sun provides the energy that drives convection within the atmosphere and oceans, producing winds and ocean currents. -We will explore this topic in 4 live class periods. Students have the option to complete approximately 2 assignments each week and a project at the end of the unit. (Projects can be as time/labor-intensive as the student chooses) Our last week in this unit will include a fun game-style review/informal assessment! Students will also be provided with an optional unit test ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unit 2- Weather Maps & Air Pressure (Weeks 5-8) -Objective: Students will be able to identify how global patterns of atmospheric movement influence local weather using weather maps that show high and low pressures and fronts. -We will explore this topic in 4 live class periods. Students have the option to complete approximately 2 assignments each week and a project at the end of the unit. (Projects can be as time/labor-intensive as the student chooses) Our last week in this unit will include a fun game-style review/informal assessment!
