Práctica de dicción y comunicación 1:1

Communication is an important element of life. Oral communication can be challenging for many people. Being able to articulate your thoughts, enunciate your opinions and have good diction all result in being able to get the words out of your mouth in a clear manner. It is a muscle that can be trained and worked on through exercise and practice. There is power in being able to communicate orally. There is a confidence that a person has when their words are understood. I created this class because I want children to have that confidence and power. 

This is a 45 minute, 1:1 class that will work on diction and communication. I will focus on the needs of the individual student. I will give the learner practice with entering and exiting conversations, expressing themselves by answering open ended questions, building their confidence with speaking and gathering their thoughts and figuring out what they want to say. We will have a conversation on a topic of interest to the learner in order for them to dive into the conversation and develop their individual voice by being authentically themselves. The goal is for the learner to become comfortable and confident with expressing themselves through an open dialogue.

We will also work on eye contact, active listening and strategies to approach new people and join conversations. Half the class will revolve around communication and the other half will work on diction and articulation mainly through practicing tongue twisters and verbal exercises. There will be a lot of repetition and being intentional on slowing down the speech and hitting every syllable in each word. This will come with practice.  

My approach and experience comes from an acting background and understanding the importance of communicating in an effective and authentic way.
