Experiencia de clase

Discover the magical world of Harry Potter in this 8 week class by reading "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" and discussing the reading. Each class the learner will come prepared to class by having read the weeks chapters. I will have discussion questions for the learner to encourage them to talk about the reading as well as check for comprehension. The learner is free to ask their own questions about the reading. We will also discuss character development and plot development. This class is for the learner who is reading this for the first time and for a fan that want to discuss the book with another fan.

Here is a weekly break down

Week 1: Read chapters 1-3 and discuss how Harry used magic on Aunt Marge. We will discuss Harry running away from the Dursley's home.

Week 2: Read chapters 4-6 and discuss Harry's stay at the Leaky Cauldron. We will also discuss the train trip to Hogwarts.

Week 3: Read chapters 7-9 and discuss Harry's new Professors. We will discuss how this school year is different.

Week 4: Read chapters 10-12 and discuss the twins giving Harry the map. We will also talk about the makers of the map.

Week 5: Read chapters 13-15 and discuss the quidditch matches.

Week 6: Read chapters 16-18 and discuss the prediction of Professor Trelawney and the new information we know about the map makers.

Week 7: Read chapters 19-20 and discuss Sirius Black and dementors.

Week 8: Read chapters 21-22 and watch "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". We will discuss the differences in the film verses the book and they might have made the changes in the movie. We will also discuss Hermione's use of the time turner.

Thank you for taking a look at my class. Please let me know if you have any questions.
