Every other week students will learn about a new creative writing genre and be instructed to individually write a new piece in that genre to share in the following class. If they continue to work on the piece the following week, they will have the opportunity to share any revisions they made.
paper pencil or pen dictionary and/or thesaurus optional
Assessment is informal. Students will be encouraged to share work and discuss what they enjoy about their classmates' writing and what makes it a particular genre.
