Description
Class Experience
As each person joins the class, there will be a writing prompt on the board. Each student will then free write. Once the writing time is over, each learner will share what they have written. Other students can tell what was written well, and what can be worked on. The idea of the class is free writing so that there is no homework, or prep time. Also, peer reviews are a great way for students to learn. Some of the writing prompts will include topics such as: What is one thing that you...
Students will improve their ability to think quickly. They will also learn how to put these thoughts into writing efficiently. Learners will find way to to help, and support other's writing as well.
I have taught classes that include opinion based, and fact based writing to learners for the past six years from Shakespeare, to the American Revolution, and including World War II through current events. I have attended trainings from the Leadership Education Mentoring Institute to teach these classes.
Pencil and paper are required for class. If it is easier for a student to type on an extra computer, that is acceptable as well.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
