Beginner - Intermediate Level
Learners will be taught how to format a 5 paragraph essay. They will learn how to respond to a prompt, whether it's argumentative, informative or expository, and what each of those writing styles entail. I will use different writing prompts and anchor sets so that learners can see examples and use them as models for their own writing. I will teach learners how to annotate sources and find evidence for their thesis statements. This writing book camp will be designed for learners to ask questions, engage with each other and me and have fun with writing!
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to format a 5 paragraph essay and how to respond to writing prompts. They will also learn how to elaborate and defend their thesis statements with either their own opinions or evidence from sources.
