Class Experience
This one-time class will simply help to ease students' fear of writing the heart of the basic essay: the thesis statement. We will differentiate between simple and thesis statements with examples and light discussion. Course information will involve getting to know each other, recognizing a formula for thesis statements, and differentiating between good and bad examples. I am patient and non-intimidating :). I seek to make all students feel more confident about all of their future writing...
This class is taught in English.
Students will be introduced to a non-intimidating introduction to differentiating between simple and thesis statements, as well as a simple formula to help them write a basic, less-stressful thesis statement: the heart of the essay.
I have taught high school students in preparing them to write successfully for college essays and papers. I have tutored for over 15 years in varying subjects, and many of my students have transitioned to college writing easily with my help.
No homework.
Learners will simply need to bring their favorite quotes, as well as (optionally) notebooks for taking notes from the lesson for future writing endeavors.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
