Women's History: Annie Kenney & the Suffragettes
Class experience
US Grade 8 - 11
Students will learn through an interactive PowerPoint presentation. They will be able to ask questions and easily follow along. The topics that will be the life of Annie Kenney and her involvement, as a working-class woman, in the suffragette movement. We will discuss her motivations for joining the Suffragettes and what she believed suffrage would do for women. We will also discuss her militant activity and her imprisonments as well as the treatment she received in prison as a working-class...
They will learn about the suffragettes. Who were they? How were they different from the suffragists? We will learn about the large role that class played in the in the women’s suffrage movement in Britain in the twentieth century.
Paper and pencil to take notes.
