In this 2-week workshop, students will learn how to use descriptive writing techniques to write interesting, sensory-packed (and yes, AWESOME!) sentences. We will focus on the theme of winter for our workshops during the months of Jan-Feb.

👁️ Students will learn what sensory language is. ✏️ Students will learn to revise basic, boring sentences into descriptive, interesting sentences that appeal to our five senses. This helps us imagine the scene very clearly as the reader! ✍️Students will write their own descriptive sentences and short story.
I've taught Sensory Language to HUNDREDS of 6th and 7th grade students!
Homework Offered
There is not assigned homework, but if our discussion/share out time runs long and we don't get a chance to write all of the sentences, I will show students additional winter images and writing prompts and encourage them to write on their own after class. This is optional.Assessments Offered

Please bring a piece of paper and writing utensil to class. Students should keep their original sentence from week 1 to bring back to the second week of the workshop. Some students find it helpful to keep this work in a small notebook.
This workshop is not focused on holidays, but holiday topics may come up if students choose to write about them. I will ensure that all students' points of views are respected.
