Students will spend 5 days discussing all of the Harry Potter books.
This club is designed as a Socratic book club. Learners will talk have a chance to discuss any book in the series and talk about any topic that suits their interest.

This camp is designed as a Harry Potter book club led in the Socratic style, which means that members will have the chance to introduce topics that are important to them with a following organic discussion among members encouraged by me, the facilitator. No single book will be examined unless members would like to "go there." Instead, broad ideas that can (and should) pertain to most, if not all, of the books will be the focus of each day's discussion. We will begin each of the three classes...
Students will find meaning in their reading, develop critical thinking and reading skills, and develop social skills in a safe and respectful atmosphere.
I have a Master's Degree with an emphasis in literacy. I am a Potterhead myself, and I led several Socratic-style book discussion groups when I home schooled my children.
Homework Offered
Students will be expected to have already read at least some of the Harry Potter books. They will be encouraged to attend classes with an idea of a topic they would like to discuss, time allowing.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
