Description

Class Experience

Students will:-
1. Improve their creative thinking skills to generate unique and innovative business ideas;
2. Learn about the elements of a winning business idea pitch and boost their confidence and public speaking skills;
3. Provide constructive feedback to their peers in a friendly environment that fosters learning;
4. Use this course as a source of inspiration to think of many more creative ideas;
5. Learn about the stories of ideas that made millions - simple ideas and those invented by kids.
Homework will only be assigned at the end of Day 3's class. Students are asked to come to Day 4's class with 1 potential business idea that they may be interested in pursuing. In order to achieve this, prior to Day 4's class, students are asked to do some research. The following are some tips/guidelines on selecting a potential business idea:-
- What do people need or want? Think of an everyday obstacle – how can it be overcome? Start with a Google search.
- If you could provide or invent something that would make life easier, better, safer, fairer or cheaper – what would it be?
- What are you really good at or love doing? Perhaps start with that!

1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
You Tube videos showing examples of winning business idea pitches will be shown. Students are not required to have a separate You Tube account. This will be embedded in the teacher's presentation slides. Age appropriate content will be shown.
