In this one-time class, we will explore the role of government and many different types of government systems, especially democracy, socialism, communism, and fascism. We will define each type of government, compare and contrast the different governing styles, and discuss examples of countries that have implemented these systems, both in the present and in the past. Students will come away with a clear introductory understanding of the role of government in society as well as different government types.
My B.A. Degree in Cultural Studies, and first hand experience visiting countries and cultural sites all over the world has given me a great deal of practice in cultural sensitivities. I would like to reassure parents, this applies to all my courses.
Homework Offered
Students will not be assigned formal homework, however they will be encouraged to continue learning with reading recommendations.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
