Beginner Level
What will be taught:
Students learn to locate Europe on a globe or world map.
Students learn to indicate whether Europe is in the Northern Hemisphere or Southern Hemisphere.
Students will identify and describe three of the following using maps, and associate them with Europe: a particular country (Russia, Ireland, Austria, France, United Kingdom), a particular city (Moscow ,Paris, London, Athens, Rome), and particular landmarks (Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, the Acropolis ,the Colosseum).
Students will learn to understand the meaning of the following vocabulary: customs, landmarks, Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Acropolis, and
Colosseum.
Students will learn to understand that Europe is the sixth-largest continent.
Students will learn that Europe is nearest the North Pole is cool to cold most of the year, and as one moves farther south, the climate becomes warm and sunny much of the year.
Students will practice locating places on the map, such as the Amazon River, North America etc. 
How will the lesson be taught:
Doc cam, discussion, engagement, and slides. 
Great class for beginners to learn about maps and locations on a map, compass rose, the oceans etc.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance is helpful in case of technical difficulty or help for logging on to the zoom. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for each week for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
