One-On-One Practice in Reading, Writing, or Spelling

In this one time class, we will focus on reading, spelling, or writing skills. It is a one-on-one class that focuses on each individual learner's needs for one or more of the listed subjects. The first class will contain an assessment and a mini-lesson to help me know where to begin and what to focus on for each learner. Each class after that will build on that knowledge. Please contact me if you would like to have an ongoing or multi-day class. 

I am certified in teaching students with dyslexia and other reading differences. I have experience working with learners from Kindergarten through 12th grade in teaching reading, spelling, and writing. We will focus on structured literacy and phonics based strategies that will help students become more confident. Reading and Spelling skills work together, so a lot of times the skills and practices will overlap. 

Classes might include:
*Phonological awareness practice
*Decoding skills
*Sound segmentation for spelling practice 
*Listening for specific sounds in words
*Reading nonsense words 
*Practice in writing sentences or paragraphs

Attendance and Refund Policy:
For this class, lessons are customized to each individual student. For this reason, a 48 hour notice is required to alter the scheduled class time. 
A learner is considered absent/no show ten minutes into class.  If a learner is not present, I will wait until the 10 minute mark.  After 10 minutes, I will mark the end of class by  posting  in the classroom that class has ended.
