Teacher expertise and credentials
Oklahoma Teaching Certificate
My name is Kimberly Lawson. I am a newly retired teacher. I taught elementary school for 32 years. The majority of those in third grade. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I believe that all children can learn. I also believe learning looks different for every child. One of my favorite things about teaching is watching "light bulb" moments. I love to see a student's face light up when they finally understand a concept they have been having difficulty mastering. Creativity and imagination are also at the forefront of my teaching style. I try to implement the use of anchor charts or visual aides to help guide instruction. These resources can serve as a reminder for students if they are struggling to remember concepts they have been taught previously. I am interested in teaching a variety of classes. Some of my ideas are tricky math concepts, book studies with discussion and creative projects, and cursive handwriting. I love to travel. I have been to so many amazing places and have enjoyed getting to experience various foods, cultures. and people. I am excited to be an Outschool Teacher!
