Class Experience

This is the second class in a series. If you have not taken the first one, please take it first and then take this one. This one will be more challenging than class one. Students who are visual/spatial learners would love this hands-on class! Those that love a challenge will also thrive. Students will make designs with toothpicks and then remove or move some to make a new design by listening to the instructions. You will need access to toothpicks, a flat surface and your best problem solving. It would also be helpful if students are on a tablet or phone so they can move it to show their designs. If time permits, students could make up puzzles of their own or could do so after class to astonish their friends and family members. Example instructions: Remove 8 toothpicks to get 2 triangles.

Learning Goals

Students will be using higher level visual/spatial thinking as they solve problems using toothpicks. Hands on class.
