Are you ready to solve math puzzles using the power of addition and subtraction? In this ongoing class, learners will solve math puzzles using math knowledge and critical thinking skills. This class is perfect for learners who love a good challenge and have a good understanding of addition and subtraction within 30. Each class will begin with a Math Talk where learners will be presented with an open-ended mental math problem. They will share their thoughts, ideas, and strategies with each other. They will learn how to build off each other's ideas and even learn how to productively disagree with each other. This activity allows learners to dig into the "why" behind mathematical procedures and learn how to communicate with each other about math. During the remainder of class, learners will tackle different types of math puzzles. Some puzzles they will do independently, while others we will work on as a class. Join me for cooperation, math mysteries, and fun! Class Schedule 2024-2025 We will tackle 12 different types of Math logic puzzles. While the type of puzzles will repeat, the actual puzzles are unique, so learners can stay in the class as long as they would like!
