Description
Class Experience
During this one-time, fun, and interactive course students will be given an introduction to the major bones in the human skeletal system. We will learn what bones are and why they are so very important to us. We will even take a glimpse at the anatomy inside of our bones. They aren't just for holding things together! There are lots of cool things going on inside our bones! Since music is a great tool for memorization, we will use an easy-to-learn, catchy song to help us remember the...
Students will gain a basic understanding of the human skeletal system, including, what bones are, why we need them, what are the major bones of the human skeletal system, how they are oriented in the body, and how we can keep bones healthy and strong.
There will be no homework assigned for this course. Students attending this class will individually construct a skeleton from a printed template. We will work on this during the end of the lesson and students who do not finish are welcome to complete the project or add to it, as desired, after class.
Students will need the printed skeleton template, a pair of scissors, glue, and crayons/colored pencils/markers (optional) for our class project.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
A brief and informal written summary of your student's participation and progress in class will be sent following the conclusion of the lesson.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Printable materials will be provided in PDF format prior to the class meeting. There is no cost to the student for these materials.
