The Space Race Series Part 1: Rockets in Space (10-14yr) (Ongoing Version)

Teacher Tom was featured as a top educator on Outschool's EPIC Spotlight for Passion-Driven Learning in 2021 and is here with another series to help you prepare for a multi-planetary future! 

Hi everyone! It's Tom, your "Space Technology & Rocket Launches Teacher", here, excited to now have my Rockets in Space class running as an ONGOING class!

In this class, we will meet weekly to learn about the rockets that are the current big-players in the space race including Starship, Falcon, Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic Spaceship, Firefly, ULA Rockets, and more!
 
If you love watching Rocket Launches and hearing about all of the latest Space Technology, it's important to know the names of the different rockets in the Space Race, and understand how they are different and what their purposes are.

This class will be a combination of slides, video, discussion, and Q&A. By default, we will learn about many interesting terms, facts, and events regarding space technology and the space industry. 

This class is meant to inspire and empower young people to stay up to date on the industry and future opportunities they may have to contribute to it. 

Each week we will learn about one or more of these incredible rockets! This class starts over after 6 weeks. You can jump in anytime and join us for your favorite rocket group, or all 6!

Week of June 16: ULA
Week of June 23: Asia (China, India, Japan)
Week of June 30: Russia, ESA, NASA
Week of July 7: Small/New Companies (Firefly, Astra, Virgin Galactic/Orbit, Rocket Lab, Blue Origin, etc.
Week of July 14: SpaceX Falcon 9 & Dragon
Week of July 21: SpaceX Starship
(Starting Over) Week of July 28: ULA
