In this one hour session, students will learn about the life of trumpet player Miles Davis, as well as how his ever-changing approaches to jazz performance helped contribute to jazz's evolution. Topics will include Davis' early life and musical education, early experiments with bebop, development of cool jazz and hard bop, contributions to modal jazz, and ventures into jazz/rock fusion.
