This class will explore some of the ethical dillemmas of robots and artificial intelligence.
Class experience
Is it okay to intentionally hurt a robot? What should self-driving cars be programmed to do when they are going to collide with a pedestrian? Can a machine have rights? These are some of the questions that scientists and ethicists are trying to answer right now, and they will become more and more important as we move to a future with advanced technology able to mimic human emotion and interact with people on a deeper level.
