This course will focus on the function of the healthy organs and the resulting diseases, disorders, or conditions that occur if the organs become dysfunctional. This class will heavily involve class participation with applicable discussion on presented slides and/or videos. The course is an ongoing journey through 11 bodily systems (Brain, Heart, Lungs, Spinal Cord and Nerves, Integumentary, Muscles, Bones, Digestive, Elimination, Urinary and Endocrine).This course will be purposefully intellectually challenging but age appropriate. Since each organ session can act as a stand alone course, your child may attend in various orders and as often as their schedule allows. Although each organ functions differently, the format each week will be identical. Each week the covered topics for each organ will include a) description of organ b) function of the organ c)components of the organ d) disease, disorder or condition arising from the dysfunctional organ e) commonly resulting physical limitations and f) commonly practiced treatment for those limitations. 1) Week of 01/14/2024-Brain 2) Week of 01/21/2024-Heart 3) Week of 01/28/2024-Lungs 4) Week of 02/04/2024-Spinal Cord and Nerves 5) Week of 02/11/2024- Integumentary 6) Week of 02/18/2024 -Muscles 7) Week of 02/25/2024 -Bones 8) Week of 03/03/2024-Digestive 9) Week of 03/10/2024-Elimination 10) Week of 0317/2024- Urinary 11) Week of 03/24/024-Endocrine *Please note that this course is purely informative and is not designed to replace the consultation of professional medical advice.*

Learning Needs
Students are required to stay on screen to interact with teacher-engagement to increase retention of subject matter. Note writing is required. In special cases to build confidence learner can remain off screen but not more than 2 classes.

Pre-Requisites
Students need to have a passion to learn and ability to take notes. Students will have the option to take screen shots. The objective is a positive experience, therefore encourage learners to verbalize if additional time is needed.
