Class Experience

In this class, I will be teaching aspiring artists a step-by-step process on how to draw different jungle animals! The session will cover the basic drawing techniques needed to create your artwork + a different animal to try your hand at. Topics we will go over include: How to draw using simple shapes, drawing in details that make the creature recognizable, and fun facts about each creature we will draw.

These lessons can be taken individually as I will teach you everything you need to know about the basics of drawing in one class period, but the difficulty of the animals will progress as each week passes so your artistic abilities can only stand to gain from coming back!

Here’s a general breakdown of how each class session will go:
-At the beginning of class, we will start with introductions.
-Present this week’s animal
-Learn basic drawing techniques
-While drawing, I will share interesting facts about the animal!
-At the end of class, we will present our drawings to the other students and I will provide feedback.
-If students finish early, they’re free to ask me for instruction in drawing an animal of their choice!

Materials Needed:
- Paper
-Pencil(HB) for sketching
-A black marker for tracing
-Colored pencils, colored markers, or crayons for coloring the drawing

Dates

Geckos, Frogs, Caiman

4:00pm-5:15pm
Toucans, Lemurs, Armadillos

The class will take place on Zoom. I will have one camera that will be facing me and my drawing desk. Students will be allowed to unmute their mics to speak and I will keep the chat open as well.

Please take into consideration that every artist works at their own pace. Students may not always be able to finish their drawing by the end of our time together but they will have learned the artistic techniques needed to accomplish this! I highly encourage each artist to continue to work on your portraits after class and to feel free to join another class session if you’d like to work on it together! I am looking forward to working with you all!
