In this ongoing summer version of my popular beginners watercolor class, your child will learn the basics of watercolor by exploring different techniques and tricks as we complete a painting together.
Class experience
In this class, we will discuss watercolors and how they are not as intimidating as they seem. In fact, they are a lot of fun to paint with. We will go over the two most common methods of painting: wet-on-dry and wet-on-wet. We will discuss different topics and practice brush strokes, paint values, lifting color, and many others. In class, we will sometimes do several exercises to practice a different method or technique that will be used. We will then do a painting in class to put those...
Supplies: -watercolor paper (140lb) -paintbrushes -1 or 2 cups of water -watercolor paints (cakes or pans are easiest for kids to learn from) -pencil and eraser -paper towel -painters/masking/washi tape -crayons/oil pastels -black crayon, ballpoint pen, gel pen, lining marker
