Did your learner complete Algebra 1 are they ready for Algebra 2 but need some polishing? Let's review and prep together. I will cover 5 key topics from past math courses to ensure your foundation is strong walking in the Algebra 2. The first meeting of the unit is discussion, practice, and modeling. Students will be assigned a practice assignment. During the second unit meeting we will review content and discuss questions and concerned about the topic at hand. The topics will be: Day 1: Graphing using different methods Day 2: Solving multi-step equations Day 3: Systems of Equations Day 4: Factoring to solve and the quadratic formula Day 5: Radicals and rationalizing the denominator My classes will be taught using a tablet PC which will allow for students to see modeling. While enrolled, students will have access to additional video content in OutSchool that they may view at their convenience. A little about me. My name is Kathleen Annis. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and currently working towards my master's degree in mathematical sciences. I have 7 years of teaching experience with courses from Algebra to Calculus with a focus on Algebra 2. I look forward to seeing your learner in class soon.
Learning Goals
Develop and/or maintain Mathematical confidence in previous math skills so that the student can excel in Algebra 2.

Supply List
Printing makes the homework easier. No assignment needs to printed but it does make it easier to work on if the questions are already in front of you.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate in Mathematics
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Florida International University
Hi! I am Kathleen Annis and math is hard.
I love it because it is difficult, a puzzle to be solved, not just facts to be memorized. I enjoy sharing this puzzle with learners and showing them different ways of understanding mathematical concepts. I want to help. I deeply embed technology in all my classes using a tablet pc to write and present problems to learners online. I know how to help the learners utilize resources and meeting options to allow them to also share their work with me as well. This creates a seamless online learning environment that makes learners feel connected to the math just like an in-person class.
I offer different formats of classes to reach the needs of your learner. Single classes are offered to dive into an individual concept or to prepare for a test. I also offer series of classes with an overarching theme.
A little about me: I live in sunny South Florida with my family which includes two children: Chasen, age 7 and Ahsoka, age 5(yes! from Star Wars). I have my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Mathematical Sciences. I have been a teacher for seven years working with students from Algebra to Calculus.
I am so excited to see your learner in class.
