Come join me for a class that just may change your life! The scientists who study learning have discovered three sure bets: 1) “spaced repetition” = reviewing information at just the right time 2) “active recall” = quizzing yourself 3) “mixed practice” = mixing up questions from various subjects In this class, you will set yourself up with a flashcard system that uses all three of these sure bets. You will see truly fabulous results! I have a PhD in German and 25+ years of experience teaching, so I really know my stuff. I'm also a former homeschool mom who is warm and encouraging. I’m a careful explainer, and I provide lots of straightforward, clear examples. Please read more below for class details. I so much hope you’ll sign up for the class! --Dr. Jennifer ------------ ------------ ------------ This is a study method I truly believe every student should know about. Think about it: you can’t be smart unless you know a lot of stuff! Using a flashcard system based on “spaced repetition,” you will be able to learn and remember lots and lots of information. Let me give you just a few examples from my own life: + My son began learning with spaced repetition when we homeschooled him in 5th grade. He’s currently in his late 20s. He’s used his system throughout high school and college and now in his successful tech career. + My brother has been using spaced repetition to learn languages such as German, Chinese, Indonesian, & Arabic. + I currently have 19,841 cards (and counting!) in my spaced repetition system. I spend about 10 minutes each morning studying my cards. That’s all it takes to keep 19,841 pieces of information in my head, always ready to use. Sound interesting? With your own personal study system in place, you too will be able to keep thousands of pieces of information in your head. You’ll be super-accurate, with a a 95% recall rate. You’ll be able to remember the information FOREVER. And you’ll only need to study around 10-15 minutes a day. Wow! Just think of all the things you could memorize: book titles, Japanese or Spanish or Swahili vocabulary, historical dates, musical terms, tricky English vocabulary, geometry formulas, names of the presidents, facts about animals, your cousins’ birthdays, the songs of the birds you hear out hiking, the top 10 Beatles songs of all time, the timetable for the train from New York to Philadelphia, the names of the national parks you visited on your last vacation, your recipe for home-made biscuits, your bike lock combination, etc., etc. etc. This is a system that you will be able to use right away. And it’s a system you’ll be able to use through your school years, your college career, and your whole life long. It’s quick & easy, and I can’t wait to show it to you. ------------ The class offers approximately 45 minutes of learning material. ------------ This is a self-paced class, which means there are no live meetings on Zoom. Instead, you work your way through the pre-recorded, pre-written learning materials posted in the classroom (videos + worksheets). You can go through the class at whatever pace works best for you. - If you finish early, great—you can move on to your next study skills class! - If you need more time, no problem. Just let me know. If you have questions as you are working on the material, you can message me at any time. ------------ Here’s what you’ll do in the class: 1 – You’ll watch 3 interactive videos (10 minutes each) 2 – You’ll complete 3 simple worksheets (5 minutes each) 3 – You’ll set up your “spaced repetition” flashcard system, on paper or as an app ------------ I have shared this spaced repetition system with hundreds of students. It is a system I use myself, every day. I know from personal experience that this system can be life-changing. This is a study skill every student should know about, and I would love the opportunity to share it with you. Come join me and find out for yourself!

Learning Needs
The study method taught in this class can be of particular benefit for gifted or 2e learners, for learners with unique learning needs (ADHD, dyslexia, ASD), and for anyone struggling to do well on tests or exams.
Parental Guidance
Note to families: Some learners may need assistance to set up their learning system, whether they choose to go with a paper-based or digital system. I will post an information sheet to the classroom that includes a brief explanation of the why’s and how’s of the method and links to the Anki spaced repetition site for the (free) software download. You may wish to create an “Ankiweb” account for your child if you want to sync between, say, a handheld device and a desktop or laptop computer, but you don’t need to do so to use the program. You can check out Anki’s privacy policies here: https://ankiweb.net/account/privacy.
Feel free to watch the video content with your learner. Or, if you need a speeder way to find out about the spaced repetition system, watch the executive-summary version I’ve made specifically for you (10 minutes); you’ll find it in the Conclusion post.
