Class Experience

Beginner Level
Welcome to the Intro to Minecraft Education! In this fun one-time class, students will learn coding principles by using Minecraft Education Edition. We will go over the game mechanics and teach students how to access the code builder interface. We will start with a simple guided project followed by an independent task to reinforce the concepts learned. No Minecraft experience is required.

Students will enjoy completing each project as they are based on a game concept. My classes are very interactive and I encourage my students to participate and pitch in ideas to solve our challenges.

This is an introductory class where I walk students through the game mechanics and instructions on how to utilize the interface.
These coding principles are similar to many programming languages.

REQUIREMENTS:
-----Please install Minecraft Education Edition (FREE) before joining our Zoom meeting -----
Compatible Devices:
Windows PC/laptop | Mac (Macbook/iMac) | Chromebook |
iPad only.
NOTE: Phones, Android or Fire tablets are NOT COMPATIBLE.
Upon enrollment, I will provide you with information on how to access the software.

Late Attendance Policy:

Please ensure your kiddo joins the meeting on time. Arriving more than 10 minutes late will result in the student not being able to join the meeting since this class requires all students to be at the same point during the lesson.

Technology & Devices Policy:

Before joining the class, students *Must* have a basic knowledge of the devices they are using. The teacher is not responsible for troubleshooting or helping students with technical difficulties downloading/connecting to the games DURING class. Please ensure that you can download/log in PRIOR to class. If you are facing technical difficulties, you are welcome to stay in the class and I may dedicate a limited amount of time but if it cannot be resolved within 2-3 minutes, please reach out to Outschool Support.

Out of the respect for all learners who are here to learn, and socialize, in-class time cannot be spent doing troubleshooting.

Please understand that there are going to be times when technical issues will occur outside of the teacher's control, such as a down server or error when trying to log in. In such events, I am happy to transfer students to a future session and suggest troubleshooting the problem after class.

Hi there! My classes are focused on STEM-related courses (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). I want each session to be as interactive as possible with the goal of having students learn through games and activities. I teach classes I am passionate about and I want students to spark their imagination as they will be engineers and scientists of tomorrow.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. I also have a Master’s in Business Administration. For many years, I have been an active mentor in the education sector focused mainly on science and technology. I have taken part in Engineering Kids programs where I show the importance of learning engineering through fun experiments and activities. I have also taken part in different Lego League training sessions and competitions. Additionally, As a father of two, I enjoy teaching my kids about science and the world that surrounds us.

My philosophy is that everyone has the potential to learn with the right tools. Kids and teenagers learn mostly through visual examples and my classes are focused to be as visual as possible.

I hope to see your smiling faces in my next class. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to accommodate.
