Steam Challenger Champs! / Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math

The teacher will use a wide variety of multimedia sources such as slides, video clips, facilitated discusssion, and games to help the children build some background knowledge on our topic of the day.  They will have opportunities to share their ideas with each other and then will finish their project.  After the lesson, the teacher will allow opportunities students to share their findings with classmates if they choose to (optional).  

Students may join at any time as the challenges will change each week.  The topic and STEAM challenge along with list of supplies will be listed 4 days prior to each scheduled class so parents can gather necessary materials and print out any worksheets to go along with the lesson.   We will only be using everyday supplies that are easily accessible at your local Walmart, Dollar Tree, etc.

Examples of challenges include:
     roller coaster challenge
     floating and sinking
     test viscosity and density of various materials
     balloon powered rocket
     solve a human problem using concepts from biomimicry
     exercise challenge - human body test
