Welcome to my Outschool page! I recently retired after teaching for 25 years in elementary public schools. I currently am still working part-time as an Intervention Specialist in Math and Reading. Through my teaching years, I taught all subject areas in grades 2nd-6th. During the last three years I was one of two teachers that designed and taught a brand new elementary S.T.E.A.M. I've coached wide variety of academic student teams, including: Math Club, Lego Robotics, Destination Imagination, Chess Club. I've been certified professionally through the Alabama Reading Initiative; and Alabama Math, Science, & Technology Initiative. In addition I also have 4 years experience teaching ESL classes to students in Asia. I have a multitude of personal interests that I love to share with my students. My goal in teaching is always to find unique ways to ignite students’ interest and help them become lifelong learners. My current certifications include: highly qualified teaching certificate in the state of Alabama, Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality from Oklahoma State University, and Master of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Troy State University.
