Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Long-Term (End-of-Course) Goals: Learners will build on the skills from the first "Start With Art!" class, see how others in the past have used their art skills, and see how they and their peers can use those skills to accomplish their artistic goals.

Short-Term Goals: These three goals hang on our classroom wall so that every learner can refer back to them. We touch upon these goals week-to-week. They are our smaller goals that help us reach the larger goals. First, we know we are artists. Second, we carry our materials. Finally, we create daily.
Learners will be expected to create artwork daily. I recommend 2D materials for ease and convenience, but I welcome 3D media, also. Whatever media learners choose, it simply needs to be documented daily to show growth. Learners can keep pictures of 3D work that may not last permanently in either digital or physical formats.

Time of completion is a bit longer than in the first class. Learners can complete homework in 15 minutes or a few hours depending on their preference. I ask that they do what works best for their schedule and artistic goals.
Learners should have some type of drawing paper and a standard pack of markers, crayons, or colored pencils in a range of colors. Learners may also wish to paint to re-create the famous artwork. If so, please have brushes, a smock to protect clothing, something to protect the surface under canvas, canvas/canvas paper, a palette, a cup for paint water, an old rag to wipe spills, and paint in red, blue, yellow, white, and black. You can buy paint in more colors if you wish, but these 5 can make almost any color.
Learner progress will be assessed through artwork creation. If they are keeping up with their work and building up a portfolio, the learner is considered to be progressing.

We will have a showcase in Week 9 to celebrate their work.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
