Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 8
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Private art tutoring sessions for students who want to improve their art skills and receive the one-on-one attention from an artist who has been creating digital art for over a decade. I can offer direct instructions, provide demonstrations, give specific feedback, and encouragement to help guide student improvement. Due to my experience with multiple drawing tablets and art software, I am able to help students create a cleaner workspace in their preferred software and modify their tablet shortkut keys to further assist them in creating a more efficient working environment. I believe students will see tremendous growth take place when the instruction is tailored to their interests and goals and when their workspace and shortcut keys are organized and tailored for a quicker workflow.

Students taking the course are not required to know the basics of operating their digital art software before joining the course. This course is designed for all skill levels! Whether students are considered to be an intermediate artist or just starting out at the very beginning of their art journey, this course will help them grow as artists.

Not only will each art session reflect student interests, but also focus on improving an art skill such as digital sketching, coloring, linework, digital painting, shading, highlights, rendering and more. Students will also learn about digital tools, tips, and tricks, that can help push their art to the next level.

During each class both the instructor and student will be screen sharing. The instructor will screen share while providing a lesson geared towards the learners goals. The student will screen share so the instructor can provide feedback.

The instructor will be using Clip Studio Paint along with a graphic tablet and digital pen/stylus. It is highly recommended that students use a digital pen/stylus. Using a computer mouse or your own finger can be challenging and not efficient when learning how to digitally draw. The instructor is also proficient in other art software and is able to use the same software as the student if it matches one of the softwares mentioned below.

Here is a list of Digital Art Software I use:
- Clip Studio Paint
- Sketchbook
- Medibang Paint
- Procreate
- Krita

Here are a few topics that I am proficient in to see if I am a great fit for your child:
-Animal Drawings
-Anime Drawings
-Cartoon Drawings
-Character Design/Drawings
-Comic and Manga
-Dragon Drawings
-Dungeon and Dragons Fantasy Creatures and Monsters
-Perspective Drawings
-Rendering
-Superhero Design/Drawings
and more!

Schedule
This 1:1 class is student-directed based on what the student says they would like to draw, so there is no set schedule here in the class description because we will come up with something personalized. Some projects that the student may want to work on may require multiple sessions before moving onto a new topic, a new skill or focus, or moving onto an new drawing subject.

Be sure to message me so we can begin developing a personalized plan for your child's art education!

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Students require access to a digital tablet with stylus/pen, and digital software to take this course. The software is only intended for art purposes. There should be no risk of harm to your computer from downloading or advertisements being displayed while using the software. Students under the age of 13 may require a parent account. Students will also be able to use a preferred search engine, such as Google, for the purpose of gathering reference images. The reference images are to help both the teacher and student have a visual idea of what the student wishes to create during the session. It is highly suggested that the safe search is turned on your child's computer/device they will be using to access reference images. The instructor will also have a reference image available that he will be using during the class. The image will be made available via screen share and the Classroom for the student to access if they wish to use the image.

Welcome! My name is Rocco Sepulveda.

I have been a certified teacher for over 10 years. I have also been a Digital Artist for over 10 years as well!

My classroom is a space where learners can shine creatively, make strides towards their artistic goals, and share their passions with each other. It is a safe space where students can openly be themselves. In my courses students will learn to become better artists as they practice different drawing techniques. These techniques include learning to sketch, learning to break a figure down into simple shapes, learning a layered approach to drawing, learning different styles of applying linework, and learning different methods for rendering artwork.

I look forward to having your learner in my class!
