Starship Design II in Minecraft Java - The Sequel!

"Learners will continue to engineer a starship that could sustain an intergenerational trip to another galaxy...and Beyond!
We focus on emergent design where students co-construct meaning with instructors in a collaborative environment in Minecraft creative mode on our shared, dedicated Java server TheRenewal.earth 
Our philosophy is to engage every problem through a 7-generations lens where we consider the long-term implications of the decisions we make today.
Our ""D20 Learner Principles"" are applied consistently throughout the course, although not every principle will be applied depending on the journey of the class itself.
These are a few principles that commonly occur:
- offer students real choices in their learning
- 7-gen sustainability lens
- creative mode ASAP
- make a welcoming space for diverse learners
- be friendly, and incentivize befriending ""monsters"" instead of vanquishing
- use a restorative justice approach to problem solving, informed by consensus on creating known consequences

Session 1 - Animal Water, Food and Air Supply
Students have been away from their ship for at least a couple of cycles - make sure the animals have fresh water, food and air! Develop a farming, water recycling, and gas exchange system and then find ways to measure their interrelationships.

Session 2 - Space Station Collab
Student teams build a multi-use space station in the spirit of friendly team competition.

Session 3 - Animal Voting Systems
When considering self-determination to include all sentient beings, it is important to consult the animals on Starship decisions that affect everyone. The voting systems allows the will of animals to be known.

Session 4 - Citizenship Parkour
To become a Starship's citizen requires a test of skills and knowledge. Students design a parkour for newcomers and youth to achieve a ship's passport.

Session 5 - Passport Stamp Run
Complete as many other student parkours as possible to have citizenship on multiple ships.
